As a Cleveland-based family owned business, D&M Plant Hire Pty Ltd was formed in 1972 as a one-man operation with one truck.

Back in 1972, in a time when the supermarkets began competing with local butchers in the stocking of fresh meat, butcher Doug Phillips seized the opportunity to make a fresh start in a new career. Together with his wife Margaret, they purchased their first tandem truck and formed D&M Plant Hire.

As D&M Plant Hire grew to become a leader in the earth moving industry, Doug and Margaret enlisted the help of their children, Debra Wright and Ray Phillips, to run the business alongside them.

Today the D&M Plant Hire team numbers 60 fully trained professionals. The D&M Plant Hire fleet includes trucks ranging from 3m to 22m- tippers, truck & dogs, semi tippers, floats, bobcats, positracks, excavators 1.5 t – 45t, backhoes, graders, and rubber-tracked earth moving equipment.

D&M Plant Hire equipment is available for hire for either demolition or construction projects. The company provides earthmoving equipment for both civil and commercial projects throughout the local and the greater Brisbane areas.

The Phillips family believes that the success of D&M Plant hire is directly related to their focus on customer service. In one instance, Doug purchased new equipment specifically to ensure that they could meet a particular client's unique needs.

To that end, D&M Plant Hire Pty Ltd is open for business 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
