Workplace health and safety and environmental issues are of utmost importance to D&M Plant Hire. Our Construction Safety Management Plan - Incorporating Safe Work Method Statement is under constant review. Our safety system is being assessed to BS OHSA AS 18001 standard.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
The health and safety of our Employees and Sub Contractors is a high priority for D&M Plant Hire Pty Ltd. Our commitment is to preserve the health & safety of all persons associated with our operations and the integrity of our surrounding environment. D&M prides itself on a Nil lost time for injury record.At D&M Plant Hire Pty Ltd our Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Policy is based on a belief that the well-being of people employed at work, or people affected by our work, or any way in which the environment is affected by our work is a major priority and must be considered during all work performed on our behalf. People and the environment in which we live are our most important assets and their health and safety and environmental impact is our greatest responsibility. The public and environment shall be given equal priority to that of our employees.

The objectives of our OHS&E Policy are:
	To Achieve an accident free workplace.
	To make health & safety an integral part of every managerial and supervisory position.
	To consult with our workers and the Principal contractor and to ensure health & safety and environmental impact is considered in all planning and work activities.
	To involve our employees in the decision making processes through regular communication, consultation and training.
	Provide a continuous program of education and learning to ensure that our employees work in the safest possible manner.
	To identify and control all potential hazards including environmental hazards in the workplace through hazard identification and risk analysis.
	To ensure all potential accident/incidents are controlled and prevented.
	To provide effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees.

	Pro-active planning of all work activities with due consideration given to implementing OHS&E controls that are suitable to each given situation.
	Understanding the total work process and associated OHS&E risks.
	Ensuring the work team is totally committed to achieving our objectives.

MAINTENANCE
All machinery and plant belonging to D&M Plant Hire is maintained to recommended industry standards. Daily checks are carried out to assure all machinery and plant is in full working order and only fully qualified personnel are hired to operator or repair plant and equipment. D&M has its own team of qualified Diesel Mechanics and fitters guaranteeing any repairs are done quickly to minimize any possible downtime. IF any repairs are major and require any significant downtime then D&M will substitute a replacement machine to keep your projects running to schedule.
